The Long Road to Heaven

The Christian faith says it saves, but what is it saving us from? What do we need to do to be saved? Can anyone be saved? What are we saved for? How are we saved? These questions take us to the very heart of the Christian faith, to what the Christian proclaims as good news.

This Lent from the 14th of February to the 21st of March we will be journeying along the Way of St James to Santiago de Compostela, following Tom (Martin Sheen) a father, a husband, a pilgrim. Sadly, we won’t be traveling the road ourselves rather we will be journeying through the film The Way which observes Tom’s interaction with other pilgrims on the road and the stories and questions that arise, a truly soulful and uplifting film.

We will be having a showing of the film before the course begins with popcorn and drinks (Date TBA). While it may be useful to see the film before, it isn’t necessary to enjoy the course and gain lots in fellowship and further insights into the Christian faith ‘effectively moving us on in every way, in mind, in spirit and body.’

The course will begin with the Ash Wednesday service at St Leonard’s 19:00 14th Feb.
